I mean, I'll do it. But I have to psych myself up for it. And, given the opportunity, I'll let someone else make the call. (Like, if we're ordering a pizza for example.)
So it's kind of funny that for a lot of the writing I currently do I have to call people on the phone.

I know a lot of people love the 1986 Mets. I mean, not as many as probably hate the 1986 Mets, but I really love the 1986 Mets.
I was lucky enough to be an 8-year-old living in Queens when the Mets had the best season in their history, and I read every book, newspaper or magazine article, and watched every documentary about that team in the years since the Mets’ last world championship.
So maybe it surprises you to learn that I’m over it. And I’m not at all excited about this weekend’s 1986 Mets reunion.

It's a sentiment that could probably be attributed to a lot of different people, but since I heard it this week on This American Life I'll simply attribute it to Ira Glass. In the introduction to this week's episode he described the end of the year as a time where "...lots of people take stock of who they've been and make resolutions about who they want to be…"
As we get ready to begin 2015, I guess I'm more interested in writing about the end of 2013 than the end of 2014….because the latter couldn't have happened the way it did without the former.
