Goals for 2025

Hi. Happy New Year.

I like New Year’s Day because it means New Year’s Eve is over.

I think one of the things I don’t like about New Year’s Eve is there’s kind of a pressure I put on myself to think about goals and changes for the new year and you can’t put it off because once midnight hits the opportunity for that has passed and, well, there’s no tangible difference between the years at that moment so why bother.

The 11:59:59 turns to 12:00:00. The 31 on the calendar turns to a 1.

But that’s it. You’re still the same you were.

This year felt different to me, though.

I was able to wrap my head around some things I would really like to accomplish in the coming year.

I think it helped that I got a lottery spot in the Chicago Marathon. Knowing I have that to look forward to in October helped me kind of build a year around it.

So I’m going to lay out my Goals for 2025 below, and then I’ll spend the next 11 days breaking them down and explaining them, all while working to achieve them.

I plan to do a bunch of writing this year. I hope you’ll come back often to see what I’m up to.

Here are my goals, allowing myself permission to change them if necessary and (hopefully) giving myself some grace if I am unable to complete them:

(Oh, and I guess I’ll add here these are presented in no particular order, and without comment because I will be writing full posts on them in the coming days. I did group them because they fell into the categories below:)

  2. 100 Day Streak Challenge
