(Sunday Paper, Year V, Issue 24)

It’s the second Sunday in June, so we continue with “Kids Take Over The Sunday Paper” time.

My middle daughter kicked things off last week, if you missed that.

This week it’s my oldest daughter’s turn.

You can read what she wrote last year here, and that link includes the links to her previous Sunday Paper guest posts.

As for what she has to say this year?

Read on.

Hey all! I’m back with my 4th (!!!) Sunday Paper! As you probably (hopefully) know, we’ve been in quarantine for almost 3 months (when this comes out it will be exactly 3 months since we left school for the last time). This means that there hasn’t been a lot going on in my life, so instead of the usual format, I’m going to do a pros and cons list.

Pro: Netflix

Thank goodness for Netflix! It’s been keeping me entertained while I’ve been at home. I’ve been watching Parks and Rec and The Office. I’ve also been rewatching Stranger Things. Netflix also came out with Netflix Party somewhat recently, which is fun because it lets you watch Netflix with your friends.

Con: Online school :(

At first, I was okay with the thought of online school. But I have to be honest, now it kind of stresses me out. I have a lot more distractions at home, which leads to procrastination. I’ve been trying to manage my time better, though. And school is over soon anyway.

Pro: Our yard

I bet my dad has written about our yard a lot before. And I must say, it’s really coming along. He’s been working hard on it, and it’s good that we can hang out back there during quarantine. We recently got a fire pit, which is fun, and we have new grass growing in. We also planted some cucumbers and tomatoes recently, so hopefully those will grow.

Con: Everywhere is closed and canceled

Okay, I’m going to be honest here: Before quarantine, I didn't go to a lot of places. I mean, I got out of the house, but I kind of took it for granted. I haven’t been to a public place in almost 3 months! I just want to go places and see people. Also, all of our travel plans have been canceled, as well as dance performances, family get-togethers, and many more.

Pro: New opportunities!

A good thing to come out of quarantine is that I’ve been able to do some things that I normally wouldn’t be able to do. For example, I’ve been doing a lot more cooking. I’ve made a bunch of mac and cheese, and...well, mac and cheese is really the only thing I’ve been making. Besides making some ramen and helping out with some dinners...it’s mostly been mac and cheese. But there’s nothing wrong with some good mac and cheese every once in a while.

I’m also in the midst of redecorating my room! I haven’t redecorated it since it became my room, which was in 4th grade, so it’s been fun redecorating it more in my current style.

Alright, I’m going to leave you all here on a positive note-I’m going to add a notes section down below, but otherwise, this is it! Thanks for reading my quarantine pros and cons :)

Notes

-I am 13 years old and going into 8th grade

-I have been running out of things to read! Does anyone have any book recommendations?

-Like I said before, I’ve been watching The Office. I watched the first couple of episodes a while back, and I must say, I did not like it. But I decided I would give it another try during quarantine, and I’ve actually gotten really into it. I think you just have to get used to the humor.

-Kind of sad that baseball season got canceled, but they’re saying that they’re going to try and do half a season, so that’ll be interesting to check out.

-Since the last time I’ve written, we’ve gotten a puppy! Her name is Tate and we’ve had her for almost a year. You’ve probably heard a lot about her, but I must say, she is a good dog.
